Ahh, the traditional "in like a lamb, out like a strangely early Spring Break" seems to be in full effect this March. Hope you have all gotten some time to enjoy the so very nice sunshine.

SLT...
Tonight Tuesday, March 9 at 5:30 pm is the next School Leadership Team meeting. All members of the school community are welcome.
EARLY DISMISSAL...
Tomorrow Wednesday, March 10 is the next Early Dismissal day for professional development. Students will be dismissed at 1:45pm after lunch. As always on Early Dismissal days, there will be NO After School. If you would like your child to stay at school until 3:25pm, please contact Shirley at slee at tsmsonline or 347-563-5303.
SPRING AHEAD...
Remember to give up that hour this weekend. The U.S. government will kindly hold it for you until November, just when you'll be needing an extra 60 minutes of sleep.
COFFEE WITH SONHANDO...
Next Wednesday, March 17 from 8-9am we'll be holding a Principal's Breakfast. Come drink coffee, have a bite to eat, ask questions and be part of the fantastic discussions. Seriously, you should come. Email me first so we can be sure to have enough snacks and drinks.
CABARET NIGHT...
Next Friday, March 19 is the first ever TSMS Cabaret Night! Kind of like a Talent Show, but even better. You should have gotten an email about it from Laura Miller (6th grade parent) via Shirley this morning. Email Laura if you can help out.
PTA...
Wednesday, March 24 at 6pm is the next PTA meeting. More info to come.
BOOK FAIR...
Thursday, March 25 at 5:30pm is the TSMS Book Fair, another brand-new event for us, featuring a reading, Q & A, and book signing by Ned Vizzini, the NYC-raised author of Be More Chill, It's Kind of a Funny Story, and Teen Angst? Naaah.... The event will be held at the Union Square Barnes & Noble on East 17th Street. Our teachers will have class tables with wishlists for their classroom libraries. All purchases made during the TSMS Book Fair will also generate a credit for more books for our classrooms! Please come--- and be sure to mention TSMS at the register.
SPRING BREAK...
Monday, March 29 through Tuesday, April 6 is Spring Break. All schools will be closed citywide. Classes will resume Wednesday, April 7.
PARENT SURVEYS...
If you did not fill out this year's Parent Surveys at conferences, Shirley has backpacked yours home with your child. Please help our school by filling these out! It should only take a few minutes of your time. There is also a code on the survey for you to do it online at schools.nyc.gov/surveys, if you'd prefer. Finished paper surveys can be dropped in the mail or given to Shirley. If you haven't gotten one, let Shirley know-- slee at tsmsonline or 347-563-5303.
B-BALL AND SPRING SPORTS...
Congrats to the boys' and girls' basketball teams on their successful seasons. There will continue to be Monday practices for the boys and Saturday morning practices for the girls throughout the spring. Next week: Volleyball tryouts. The following week: Track and Field tryouts.
